for fox and coyote what are the advantages if any to the offset jaws? Also what is the the better coilspring traps out of Duke, BMI, and Bridger? Also will the double coil be alright or should i get the Bridger with the 4 coil kit installed? thanks again Ted

ted, to qoute john thorpe ....theres a plus and minus to everything........ your gonna give up one thing to gain another thats pretty much how offset vrs. reg jaw goes.
if it was me and I was more or less starting out, I would look across the board at what I was actualy going to target, land and water wiegh my options, make a decision and dont look back.
as far as trap selection and brands, I would mabye purchase two of each that interested me an offset model and a regular jaw model, so I could evaluate the effectivness of each for myself and compare my results with information I gained from others.
it wont be long before you form your own opinion and it will be alittle bit more rounded and satisfactory...... so when you finally do sink your bank roll into your equipment.....hopfully you'll be satisfied and confident with it........jim

This is just my opinion I believe that alot of preference comes from your own experiences. If you have been catching k9s in 1.5 coilsprings with no pullouts over the years than you might not think anything else is better or needed. On the other hand if you can only hold them in a MB 650 your going to think anything less just wont or cant work. Same goes for offset jaws or different sets or just about anything in life. All you can do is listen to other peoples results, try different ways until you find what works for you...

I think there has been some good advice so far. You really need to try to get to a trapping convention and do the hands on comparisons. Take a few different brands to the field and you'll soon find your favorites.
