DONT BUY AN UPRIGHT UNLESS IT HAS A LOCK! I have come into the shed to see a pile of fur on the floor more than once.

Never had a problem with my upright either. . . .My Dad put a bungee cord on his when the magnet on the door finally wore out.

LOL - funny story, my buddies beagles sometimes get into the area where he keeps his upright, they will use their noses and nudge open the door and steal frozen meat. First time I saw this, I laughed my rear off.... He didn't find the humor in it!

I must have had too much in the upright I have last winter and the door was pushed open just a crack. By the time I realized it the whole thing was frosted up in the front, covering the bagged fur along the edge of the door in frost. I fixed the problem, put a ratchet strap around the freezer to make sure it didn't happen again through the summer. Just took those beavers out to flesh about three weeks ago and had to throw about eight away completely as they had spoiled and were slipping bad and probably that many more are just hatters because of spoilage. Needless to say, I've always much prefered chest freezers for fur, but now I have one more reason.
