i was wondering if anyone has any experience with back country trapping where you wont be back to the fur shed for 2 or 3 days. How do you handle the pelts in the field? do you just skin and wait to flesh and stretch when you get back or do you bring along a fleshing knife and stretchers?

While certianly not the ideal situation....as long as you can keep the pelts cool, you should be alright for a couple days. It's also dependent upon what fur you're talking about too, as some furs tend to slip quicker than others....especially K9's and 'cats. If you can keep the pelts below 40 degrees you should be alright for a couple of days. A cooler and some dry ice would be great if you have the room to pack it.
