CURRENTLY A RESIDENT CAN GET A SUPPER TRAPPING LICENSE IF HE BUYS THE SUPER SPORTSMAN'S PACKAGE. TO GET THE TRAPPING LICENSE ADDED ON DOES NOT COST ANYTHING IF ONE DOES NOT BOW HUNT. CURRENTLY A NONRESIDENT SUPER SPORTSMAN'S LICENSE WITHOUT A DOE PERMIT APPLICATION IS $280. A NONRESIDENT TRAPPING LICENSE IS $310 FOR 2010. THERE WERE 41 NONRESIDENT TRAPPING LICENSES IN 2009-10 AND 39 FOR 2010-11. THIS IS NOT ONE FOR EVERY COUNTY IN NEW YORK. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A SUPER NONRESIDENT TRAPPING LICENSE THAT WOULD INCLUDE THE SUPER SPORTSMEN,S LICENSE AND TRAPPING FOR THE $310 COST. CURRENTLY I HAVE A FRIEND THAT USED TO LIVE IN COLUMBIA COUNTY THAT ONLY BUYS THE DEER RIFLE LICENSE FOR $140 AND NY WOULD GET $170 MORE PLUS ALL THE EXTRA REVENUE FROM SALES AND GAS TAX. I PERSONALLY THINK NEW YORK WOULD GET MORE MONEY WITH THE INCREASED LICENSES THAN THE $12,090 THAT WAS RECEIVED IN THE CURRENT LICENSE YEAR. IN THE CURRENT YEAR 7,490 SUPER NONRESIDENT LICENSES WERE SOLD IF ONLY 5% WERE TO PAY THE ADDITIONAL MONEY , NEW YORK DEC WOULD HAVE INCREASED NONRESIDENT TRAPPERS BY OVER 900% AND WOULD HAVE BROKE EVEN BY MY ESTIMATE ON LICENSE SALES, BUT WOULD HAVE INCREASED SALES AND GAS TAX REVENUE. NEW YORK STATE TRAPPERS ASSN WOULD GET INCREASED MEMBERSHIP AS IT IS THE QUALITY ASSOCIATION FOR ALL NEW YORK STATE TRAPPERS. ALL NORTHEAST NONRESIDENT TRAPPING LICENSES ARE WAY OVER PRICED. I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR COMMENTS AND YOUR POLL.
