Hello, I'm new to trapping and I'm wondering where is a good place to get trapping supplies in Niagara County? I plan on clearing some muskrat out of a couple ponds as well as nuisance raccoons. I figure this would be a good way to get some necessary practice with preparing pelts.
Thanks

In a pinch you can hit Gander Mountain in Tonawanda, but it is a bit pricey and the selection is poor. Other than that, I dont know a place.

I'm probably going to have to wait until next year considering the season for both of my target species season ends in less than two weeks. I don't have anything I need to get started as well as no where to get any of my supplies. I'm going to get started on assembling my gear as soon as possible and appreciate it if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Sounds like you have sometime to prepare so get a list together and attend one or more of the many conventions or rondys this summer across ny, great deals and good times. by this fall you will be set with all the gear you can carry and the knowledge to be successfull.

I've already made a list of everything I need. I would prefer to buy my supplies locally but I've been contemplating buying some items from this ebay store . . . stores.ebay.com/DakotaLine-SnaresHas anyone used a folding shovel from a military surplus store in place of a trowel or would it be to large? -note- I'm aware that snares are illegal in N.Y.

No problem Aaron. If I had the money, I would buy it all myself. .. including the wheeler.
