I have been selling a lot of my red fox pelts to some natives on the res here. One lady told me that she doesnt tan red fox at all. She just keeps working it until its supple. She swore to me that it was not necessary to tan a red fox hide. Ever hear of this?
BTW, if anyone has any claws of any type they want to get rid of let me know. Bigger the better.

I think they would give me a lot more than I ask, but I just use trapper and predator caller prices and lower them a bit. Its just neat to see what they do with them, make clothes, jewelry. Some of my catches will be used in ceremonies which is kind of neat to think about. Never met a group of folks that take fur more seriously.
I just started selling to them, so I havent sold too many, a dozen or so. Kind of a hard group to get in with.

Hey Sean. Next time that you see them, ask if they are interested in raw buffalo skins. They are really priming up good soon. I have an pretty good supplier, but am having trouble finding a pretty good buyer. I also found the best tannery to use if they need that info. Thanks

Forgot. Also, skins don't necessarily need to be tanned IF they NEVER get wet. HOWEVER, any humidity or moisture and they will CERTAINLY rot and or draw bugs and smell. also they will shrink eventually and get stiff again.

I am SURE I could help you at least unload a few of those. I'll ask tonight. Post or PM some prices if you can.
