Recieved my package of sodium benzoate today as per requested by other trappers. My only problem is how to mix the stuff? How much of the sodium benzoate do I use for 1 pound of muskrat or meat? Does this powder get put on full strength or does it cut with water? If so how much water goes with how much sodium benzoate?
When I make fish oil lures this summer do I use sodium benzoate in the process or in the end of the process; to the oils? Does this get mixed with sodium benzoate powder or is the benzoate mixed with something else?(water).Thank you for any help you can shed on this topic

I don't have my directions from my last batch (threw the bottle out) but I think it is 1 or 2 tablespoons to a pound of meat You don't add anything to fish oil, I don't believe it ever goes bad. Now that is for fish oil, not fish juice.

Hello, for your pound of bait I would use about three or four tablespoons of sodium benzoate dissolved in about a half cup of warm water. I wouldn't use anymore water than I had to. just enough to dissolve. I dont think you need to add any to your fish oil;I may be wrong. It wouldn't hurt it if you did use some. Its up to you. Ed
