Who is taking a kid to the woods this weekend? I have two friends that are and I think this is the greatest thing a sportsman can do besides teaching them how to trap. Trapper's woods sense makes them better hunters.

Talked to both my friends. The one twelve year old boy and his father who was guided by my friend learned the fatal mistake of opening all the windows in the blind and not wearing facemasks and gloves. Gobbler came in 30 yards and melted away. Typical when some camo is missing or movement is caught.
This AM my other friend guided a 15 year old girl and her father and she shot a jake. This is the third year he has taken her and the first year she said she wanted the jakes to grow up. THis year they encouraged her to take the first legal bird and she did it well. Dad caught it on video tape but of course had the wrong bird in the frame at the time of the shot. Congrats to all those who took birds this weekend!!! Can't wait for May 1st.
