Hello! I hope this is allowed. I am writing a novel and need some advice. My character is out in a bayou in Arkansas (he is a bit of a klutz) and I want him to somehow get hurt in some kind of trap that was never picked up, or left out, maybe an older one? What is believable trap that he could unwittingly step into, and say hurt his foot? I was thinking a vintage musk rat trap? Is that plausible? Nothing too dangerous. Does that make sense? Thank you for any help you can give!

Not the picture we want to portray as trappers. Besides, it’s totally untrue that you can get hurt stepping in any traps used today for trapping furbearers.

I say since he is a klutz, that he trips and impales himself through the leg on a sharp stick. That'd be cool.
