So I have received more detailed information on the goods sold at this sale which is interesting. The numbers I posted above are accurate and include everything from good to down right ugly. This info is provided by a buyer who bought most everything at the sale.
Beaver... Just over half were put up the rest were green. The average on put up beaver was about 9.50 and half of them were hatters. He says one particular trapper had no hatters and he figured the average of that group of fur at just pennies under 17.
Red fox.... Less than half were #3 or better.
Raccoon..... Only three put up coon, the rest were all green
Muskrats.... 20% mediums, smalls and kits
Coyotes.... Not really a good one in the sale. (He says this seems to be typical across all of NY state this year for some reason)
This to me was interesting information.

Interesting that is. Not put up because not worth extra work because of prices? Coyotes surprise me. Skunk paying better than mink and almost as much as greys and red. About the same I got for my rats. I, myself, have never sold a green pelt. I take pride in my fur even if it’s a lower priced pelt. Thanks again.

Couldn't imagine not putting up my fur.I also take pride in and enjoy myself in the shed. Is this a reflection of what the new trapper are doing or just a sign of the times with low prices?. In my opinion all that green fur let's them buy the put up stuff cheaper. example: dealer says,I bought all my green coon for a dollar each, why would I pay much more for yours.

Thank you. My fur shed is my sanctuary and a lot of good times through bad and good years.
