I have froze fur many different times and never vacuumed sealed, your smaller furs rats, mink, coon, that are dried flesh side out I wrap in brown crate paper a couple times each then place in brown paper grocerie bags, take your time and stack them as tight as you can in the bag then fold it over and stuff it in a plastic bag force out as much air a you can and tie it shut....have never had any problems doing it this way...fur out critters fox Yotes ect..I will stack up three or four at a time trying to keep sizes as consistent as possible then wrap several times in paper then slide into big garbage bags or feed sacks. Hope this helps

No need to vacuum seal finished skins. Be prepared to keep them frozen for several years if you don't want to sell them at current prices. Fur has not bottomed out yet for most species so it could go lower before it ever thinks about going up again. Once you freeze them, do NOT pull them back out until you are ready to sell them, even if that is years later.

Going by your initial post it sounds like you are going to freeze green not finished, if this is the case do not flesh but roll the pelts up fur side out with heads and tails tucked in. I use gallon size zip locks.

I sell my fur at the end of each season. Taking the good years with the bad. I have heard too many horror stories about guys loosing everything buy trying to store fur for long periods of time. (power outages, freezer dying, you name it). One less thing to worry about. And as Mr. Rockwood stated earlier, could be a long time before things turn around. Just my $0.02
