well i'm new to trapping and was thinking about setting some mink traps. i have a couple bridger 150s would this be to much? never trap weasels, but i don't want to water trap either. knowing my luck i would fall in...lol. looking for some advice and opinions. i figured if i have to go check traps why not use them, and try to maximize my trips checking. thanks

I use a lot of Bridger #150's with cross wires for blind trails. Without for bottom edges and channels.

What makes it better than a BMI 115?

What makes it better than a BMI 115? edit: a 5" bodygrip trap is the best size for underwater mink work... ideal kill zone, imo. Although I have caught at least 100+ males & females in 6" size, I do believe some females make it thru. Not that I personally mind, prefer to pass up females when possible but other trappers may prefer to catch them all alike.

Ok, thought you were referring to the model and not just the general size.
I have some BMI 115s and the trigger is very sensitive. I heard the bridger 150 is the same way although I have never held one personally.
On the 115s the notch furthest from the pivot point is IMO too sensitive for underwater work. I think a swift current would set them off not to mention leaves and debris.

I'm agnostic on bodygrip trap brands except for Duke #160s which are best 6" rat traps due to thinner gauge wire than other brands I've handled. The dogs need filing work on Bridgers out of box... sounds like same for BMI. They usually have last notch too shallow on all models, not sure why that is. I set the 1st or 2nd notch mostly, once in awhile 3rd notch in a really narrow run.
