I have only been to a few county conventions and will attending the national in July for a few days, reservations have already been set. I plan on attending as many demos as possilible and am wondering what i can expect for new/used trapping supplies available. Are all the sales inside the venue only? Any auctions?, or just flea market style. With the big trapping supply dealers and lure makers be there? What kind of discounts are availabl? Best deals the first day? Will there be food vendors so i dont leave and come back?
Sorry so mant questions. Just tring to make plans.

I've only been to one in Lima a couple years ago and it was awesome! Tons of new and used traps and gear there. Plan to take a couple days to attend, you can't see it all in one day! Wish I could attend this one, I'll go again some day. I am going to the southeast in Tennessee in September tho.

I have never been to a National but also plan to attend, I am told they are comparible to a NYSTA convention size wise. NYSTA shows are great, many dealers and even more tailgaters ! Yes the national should have all of the big boys there as far Lure makers and supply dealers, check out the NTA website it has a list of all the dealers who will be there. All sales are pretty much in the venue, the bigger dealers pay for indoor space, the smaller guys or hobbyist lookin to recoup a few bucks just pay less and sell their wares off the tailgate of their trucks and what not. So as far as first day being the day for deals, yes, for hitting the tailgaters for sure ! The bigger dealers tend to have "show specials" that will last the entire event. And yes plenty of food vendors as well. As far as the demos go , a little FYI in case you are unaware, unless you are a NTA member you cant enter all of the Demos. The "Big Boys" are all NTA member only Demos, new rule they just put into effect......Hope all of this helps, don't worry about all the questions brings back memories of when I was a newbie !!!....Gotta say you got me drooling for July to get here now !!!

fwiw... as one of those presenters on the demo schedule, it was not our choice to limit attendance or not. I was asked to present and graciously accepted, but I had absolutely nothing to do with who enters or not. I know that in the land of trapper's assumptions & exaggerations elsewhere it has been said that we the presenters chose limited access designations. Absolutely not true. We are merely showing up, presenting to whomever is there and trusting the NTA > NYSTA to handle everything else
