You want to do it - I can take care of it. Don't like it. Take it up with Wayne. Have a Nice Day. Ed

Just so that you are aware Mark, same rules apply at every country auction in the state that I'm aware of. Those rules are announced prior to the sale every time, at least at all I've attended. Still, there are violators at nearly every sale. The associations that sponsor these sales are the same ones that are working to promote and defend trapping at every opportunity. The funds they make, via commissions, are the way they support these efforts, financially, that benefit us all.

Anyone care to give cliff notes as to the offending rule, maybe one of us(ME) may try and avoid breaking one or two of them. If this is a sore and open wound then I'll be happy to just let it die, do as you see fit.

All buying and selling of fur should happen inside the sale, by registered buyers and sellers. If you would like to buy fur from a seller, or sell fur to someone who wants to buy it, it should go through the clubs sale process so that they can make a commission on the sale. Or at least brought to the clubs attention so that they can decide how the sale should transpire.
These clubs need the income from these sales to pay their bills and all the fur that doesn't go through the sale raises no income for the club. If it weren't for the commission there likely would not be the club to hold the sale.

OK, my turn. It’s been a week and I’m still irritated at how things played out at that auction.
I have been a part of the IFHCNY since before we changed from the Furtakers of America CNY Chapter 2E. During that 30 year time period, I served as an officer for many years and ran both the rendezvous and fur sale.
When I got to the fur sale, a long time friend asked me to sell him a coyote to which I said sure. This was no attempt to rob the club from their commissions. It was a friend asking a favor.
We were standing right in front of the check in tables and guys that I have called good friends for decades never said a word (ouch). When we went outside, they sent 2 club officers out like a couple of mall cops looking to make a bust. When they said it was against the rules, I handed him back his money and tossed the coyote back in the bag. It wasn’t until about an hour later when I went to check in my fur that I was informed that the club officers unanimously agreed that due to my outlaw behavior I am banned from selling at their sales. So for a $2.50 commission, I’m now a bad guy? I think someones panties are wrapped a little to tight. This can’t be about the money, because I had $50-$100 in commissions in my 2 fur bags.
By the way, THERE IS NO ONE WHO HAS PAID MORE IN FUR SALE COMMISSIONS TO THE IFHCNY THAN I HAVE. And probably by a lot. I’m not looking for an internet battle. I plan to attend the club’s next meeting to discuss this matter, but I want my perspective to be heard by more than the 10 people who will be at that meeting.

Sad to see you guys treated that way, over spilled milk you offered to clean up. Man, and these clubs wonder why they suffer.

Mark and Jack, I talked to the other officers and you can attend the meeting Jan 8 starts at 6. But I ask that you both stop with the "I've been member for such a time" or" I've done this or that" I've been a member for 12 years and Jack I seen you at only 1 meeting that you wanted to complain about the commision and you were over an hour late and showed after the vote. Mark I've never seen you at a meeting. Sincerely "the mall cop"

As a PA resident,my 2 cents. Rules are rules ,if it was just a rule that was a little broken, where is the line on how much the rule can be broken? Just saying,I would of,and I mean this, went to the fur auction cops, and told them of my fur deal outside and offered the $2.50 commission,or whatever it came to, to the auction cops. Been to many of state auctions, used to be a lot of deals in the parking lot to avoid the commissions. The host of the auction usually has expenses to take care of on top of funding the asso. outside or inside, just pony up the percentage to the association. tmbrhawk, not beating on you, certainly sounds like an innocent mistake, just would of been easier to give up the $2.50 on an outside transaction.

Pratts Falls County Park. Take rt 20 east from Rt 81 about 4-5 miles, about 150 yards past the Pompey Mall gas station take left on Henneberry Rd go about 3 miles and take right at Pratts Falls sign. Park on left. Gate will be unlocked but covered so open, drive thru and close behind you, park is closed and this keeps public out.
