Rich, make sure you tell the guys THANK YOU! The local websites are awash with compliments about the downstate crews and all the others who have come to help us. Things are starting to get back to normal with the snow,(after all this is Buffalo), but now with the warm weather and rain coming I think this storm has the potential to become deadlier than it already has been. Keeping the faith. Dave

How big a mess with this warm weather? You guys get your roofs clear?

AJ, yes we got the roofs cleared, but I think maybe we could have saved our backs. In one 24 hour period almost 4 FEET of snow has melted and it was 65 deg. here today. Talk about a roller coaster ride! As for the mess, yes, it is still quite messy here with giant snow piles everywhere, a small percentage of roof collapse, and now the rising creeks. I think I saw about 35 boats staged at a local college parking lot this morning. I'm guessing the guys in the know may not be telling us everything. They have everthing from rafts with jet motors and aluminum v-hulls with small outboards all the way up to what looks like 20 foot coast guard craft with twin 200 hp outboards. God I hope we don't need those bad boys. Dave

Killed myself moving all that crap. Shoveled the roof off and even though we lost a lot of snow, I'm glad I did. Don't think the flatter portions would've survived it. Threw it all down onto the driveway and back walks and out to the shed. Then got down and moved it all again. Good times. Water everywhere now man. Everywhere.

I spoke with my local DEC officer yesterday. He was in buffalo. He had just hauled up all the pumps and other flood control stuff from the local office.
