That was this year’s Rondy theme and for the past 10 years everyone on the Forum here and those that have attended the Summer Fur Rondy will always be a part of my trapline memories. If you didn't know, this year’s logo is Stephen & Katye walking up a hill on one of our traplines we ran together. What started out as a vision of a small informal get together of a few trappers to sit around a campfire and chew the fat has turned into something beyond my dreams. I can't begin to say how overwhelmed I was last night at the final can raffle and auction when my family & I were presented with your very generous, and certainly unexpected donation. I'm seldom at a loss for words which many of you know, but at that moment, I was. There are so many to thank and I know that I’ll forget some but I need to thank Jim Petreszyn and Madison County for their 100% support of this event from day #1 because without their initial and continuing support, the Rondy most certainly wouldn't have made it the 1st year and wouldn't be what it has become today. Pete Sorenson & his family for providing us with some of the best food and most certainly greatest service over the years. I want to thank everyone that has attended the past 10 years, whether it was 1 time or every year because without your support and generous donations, we couldn't have grown my little Rondy into OUR Rondy. We had a great run, there were some really great demo's especially Zagman's weasel demo a few years back and Bob Samuelson's mole trapping demo yesterday which I found most enlightening. We've had trappers from Texas, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio and the province of Ontario attend over the years. We really only had one miss, the tilapia fishing pond in year #2...unless you count the frying pan toss which Redknot was almost beaned on several occasions, but that was really a hit Last but certainly not least by any means, I need to thank my family, Laura, Stephen & Katye who have devoted so many hours of their time to the Rondy these past 10 years....from fielding the literally dozens of phone calls per week leading up to the event to all the pies that were baked, logo's that were designed and trash cans emptied, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. So while this year is closing my chapter, another one begins next year as the Madison County Sportsman Federation will begin theirs. I look forward to seeing everyone next year when I attend from the other side of the table and hope that everyone will continue the legacy that I started and that the Summer Fur Rondy will continue to be the best little show in the world.....May your traps be filled with memories....Itrapny

What a class act... that's the kind of character and integrity that made - makes - this what it was and always will be. Good form, sir.

Thank you Wayne !!! For planting that seed 10 years ago....Wasn't able to see any of the final demos this year, but in years past I know some of the demos I caught at Fenner have made me the Trapper I am today...As Lonnie said, some of my Truest friends are ones I made right there at Fenner and other conventions !! Was able to make the final Rondy briefly Friday, and my favorite part, seeing Friends that I haven't seen in 11 months, sitting around the cooler with Coop, Randy, Lonnie and Dale Gamba just shooting the breeze, that's the good stuff !!!......Though it may have a different title next year, it will always be Fenner to me...See you next year Gents !! And back to Wayne, It was a great run you had, we all look forward to seeing you on the other side of the table next year. Thanks once again for all that you do for us Trappers, not just Rondy or Forum related !! And to the entire Jones Family, Thank You, for we all know it takes a strong support team behind the scenes with the " Grand Poobah " ......Thank you all !!!!!

best of luck for whatever you take on "next year". I enjoyed several of your Rondy's and am sorry I missed this one. Thanks to your family for the support they have given you and the trapper familys who proudly gave and got, some of the greatest memories we can ever have. Truly a family.

Sure hope that injury on Joels head heals quick. Terrible freak accident. Never thought a toilet bowl lid could be dangerous.
