Do you cover your dps to keep them semi-waterproof? If so what do you use?

No. But if you want, you can use a cup or something over the top.

fwiw: I usually stick a plug of grass (folded over double) in mine, from location or imported. Not completely waterproof but my baits are. Keeps the rodents out, lets scent release and easily removed by coon

LOL View AttachmentYou can also use an Out of date Hen Chicken's Egg Balanced in the DP Trap Opening as A covering. Has Great Eye-appeal, Is Coon Edible, and Is already a Naturally Attracting Bait That Coon are familiar with. A great Last supper for the Masked Rascal. walleyed

I use a red solo cup over mine. Keeps bait and springs dry on the Duke dp's.

I plug mine with a coon paw, I think covering the hole and you have lost SOME of the attraction to the dp.

I bought a dozen of the white z trap and love them. On Sunday morning, out of 12 traps I caught 8 coon,,,,,one small and 7 real bruisers. For bait I take a half a large marshmellow and poke it down under the trigger. I then put a little bit of lure called coon crack and drizzle it on the lip of the trap and and then down inside to the marshmellow. I think the "coon crack" lure is basically chocolate syrup based with something else mixed in, anyways the coon really seem to like it.

You can put a small piece of aluminum foil over the top of it.. It will also help with keeping any mice out
