What are the basic ingredients in bait solution ? Not that I will make my own but wonder what odor it ads to the ground flesh ?

young woodchucks are great in sauce... my grandmother used to cook them all the time. I skinned many a yearling chuck for the cast iron skillet years ago I made my own baits exclusively and woodchuck was pretty much it until muskrat season came in. I'd clean them out first, then chop into chunks w/skin on using a sharp hatchet. Lightly taint the chunks and fix with borax. Worked great for everything including big upland coon. this year I'm going to salvage a bunch of fresh roadkills thru the summer and handle exactly how spring says. I want t use a natural-type bait and urine combo at one of each two sets on location... other set gets gland or curiosity type lure depending on time of year.

i cut them up in small pieces then put in mason jars with the lid on lightly then burry them about a foot under the ground & dig up about a week before season add some water to jar & add some sodiue bentzoit to stop the taint works good on all canines and skunks too
