Can any one tell me how many otters would be safe to take from an area and not harm the population? Around 100 to 200 acres

There is about a 20 acre pond surrounded by open swampy area with low blueberry bushes with numerous trails and canals about 3 ft deep all over surrounded by hardwood ridges. I took 3 otters this past season....2 males and a female all over 50 in. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using proboards

the otters you took are all using a whole lot more than 200 acres you have access to. They are just passing thru one tiny corner of their overlapped ranges. You can trap every otter catchable in that little zone and not impact the overall population one bit.

Thank you Austin.....I just don't want to over trap this as I have it all to myself! Now that you mentioned it. There are ponds and streams with swampy areas all around.
