I am wanting to pick up a decent beaver knife and was wondering what your opinions are of the post brand....bailys in nh is having a special this weekend with demos on fur handling all day and thought I'd pick one up?
What do you all think of them?

GREAT KNIFE------- but you better be very good at sharpening a hard blade.

Buy the Worksharp Knife Sharpener and then you'll be able to sharen up any ole' blade you have around the house or fur shed already. I'm serious, you will be able to recycle knives and blades you thought were junk for all sorts of uses. I have no affiliation with this product except that I read the product review a couple of years ago in FF&G and decided to try one out. Its a great investment especially for trappers, hunters and fishermen.

I have Post and Dexter for Beaver. They work well. Hold a good edge. Bit pricey on the Post., but if on sale grab it.

How many beaver do you usually catch? I just use the inexpensive Dexter and it works fine.

I might be turkey hunting...cant decide. I heard there was going to be some great fur processing demos. Who knows, maybe I'll hook up with a bird by 8 or so, and then i can head over to Bill's! Mother nature usually laughs at these plans of mine...lol
