Just a reminder that applications for youth trapping camps are available. Both Rushford and Rotary camps are getting organized and we need qualified mentors who want to spend three days showing a youth the ins and outs of trapping. Remember, we base the program on the NYS certificate mandatory requirements. So being a certified trapper ed trainer is an advantage. NYSTA membership required also.
At the spring conference, Genesse Valley Trappers presented me with a $1000.00 check for camp operations. I know this will be split many ways to provide the necessary things to run camps. You do remember we operate on donations. Thank you Genesse Valley. Any questions please call, email or pm me.

Hi Pat-
It was a pleasure for my son Colton and me to meet you this past weekend at the NYSTA annual meeting! I love what you are doing for the kids, and Colton cannot wait until he is of age to attend the Youth Trapping Camp in Rushford!!
Great job and thanks again! Dino (and Colton)
PS. I completed my Master’s Thesis at UB studying the geology in and around the town of Rushford as it relates to the large fault zone passing through the area...I camped in an old lean-to at Scout Haven (a couple miles north of Rushford Lake) for ~5 years while performing my research. If interested (and schedule permitting), I would be happy to give a brief presentation to the students on the Geology of NY…i.e., discuss the rocks and land formations that one would encounter if walking through the woods on their trap line. I strongly feel that if one understands his/her natural surroundings, that they can appreciate it more and be a better steward of the environment.
