Will you be setting underwater bottom edge sets or dry land blind sets?

im selling all my 110s this year at convention and i am going to be running the 150s..i like the 150s they got bigger opening hit a little harder i think and there a good price..close up a little more of a nice fat rat run to without using a 160..good solid trap though in my opinion

I bought 2 doz. 110 Dukes, they are only 4-in inside -- you can use them but they have to be staked well or they could get knocked over. The Bridger 150's are a little touchy; if you turn the dog upside down where the notches are there's a crown, take a flat file and put about 3 strokes on it, removing .010-.015 (thousanths) they will sit on the jaw better and won't be so touchy. Have a good day!

I bought some used conibears years ago with the trigger modified, and they did wonders for me mink catch . Using 24 gage tinned copper wire across the trigger. Make the trigger wires u shaped. Wrap one end across the bottom ends of the trigger wires, leaving a small amount of slack in the middle. I have found the mink commit a lot better to the larger opening. also be sure the trigger has some swing to it when you set them.
Fishing line works well also, but it needs to be replaced more often.

How wide is the 'u' just a bit inside the frame of the trap?

I don't know if you are going to see much difference with a #110 VS a #155 when it comes to mink. I had a trapper tell me last year that he was swithching to all #160's for bottom edge sets because the mink were swimming around his traps. When I asked him how he knew that, his reply was that there were tracks in the snow on both sides of the bridge. Let me suggest something here, for every mink I catch in a bottom edge set, ten are swimming on the surface of the water.

For every 1 you catch in a bottom edge set if 10 swim over how many run the bank would you think?

In reference to bottom edge sets at bridges, some mink will cross over the road just like an otter.

^ Road kill will attest to that fact. ^
