This week, I had the pleasure of traveling through some beautiful country, wending my way here and there down numerous back roads and multiple turns.....finally ending up at KB Manufacturing, the Beauregard Family, and home of the venerable KB Compound trap. Kurt and Company were kind enough to donate the Grand Prize for this site's Annual Photo Contest.....one dozen, shiny, spankin' new KB Compound Traps. He also threw in some other goodies for the contest that, like the traps, are made right there at his shop in NY, USA. The newest item in his line was included in the donations, the Shefter Schackle skinning gambrel. I was able to see first-hand the process for making these traps AND the CDR line of beaver traps as well.....along with litany of others items they make there INCLUDING cage traps, an item I was unaware was manufactured there. This is a great Grand Prize and worthy of an entry or two into the contest......if you haven't entered anything yet, please do so ASAP as the contest timelines are winding down. I have used the KB traps for several years now, and like others on this site and around the world for that matter (Kurt was telling me about this trap being used in Australia for Dingos!) find them to hold anything that will step on that pan. His shop can't keep up with demand, if that tells you anything! While they can be used anywhere, I like using them in more urban situations......they have carved out a permanent spot on my coyote/fox line. Get those photos in........see the details above specific to the contest. Thanks! Zagman PS: Thanks again, Kurt and Co.!

Thanks Mark! And KB manufacturing!!!!
Hopefully this encourages some more entries.... The deadline to enter photos is April 25th....... Between Night Owl lures and KB manufacturing, these are the best prizes that have been offered.......
It's just 10.00 an entry..... Help support your fellow trappers in their time of need.... This fund has already assisted countless members since its inception... ...

Info above under locked post about the photo contest. This contest is sponsored by this site..... It may be a little confusing as Night Owl also has a request for photos, but that is not a contest sponsored by this site. I believe he does use photos gleaned from this site and other places in his catalog and table display for conventions. The owner of Night Owl has smelled one too many bottles of stink, so he was not aware of the confusion he's created....... The traps and prizes listed on this post are for the Photo Contest for this trapping site..... MZ

Traps look awesome! Very generous! My wife Amy has also offered to make a trapping basket as one of the prizes (or the mod can use the donation as he sees fit). The basket is ~med in size which will encourage the winner to get a kid involved. My son Colton has one of the same size and he lets me use it sometimes :-) ...it is also a great size for an adult to use for carrying a few critters from the line. There is a pict of a similar pack basket in some of the photos in the link below; nytrappers.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=trappingphotos&action=display&thread=24818&page=1As I had said earlier, if either Colton or I am lucky enough to win the photo contest (see the second and third photos posted in the contest :-)), the basket will be used for next year (or the mod can use the donation as he sees fit). I am planning to attend the NYS trapper meeting in Collins... if Amy can finish the basket in time (and it is a tremendous amount of work), I will bring it along with me. Good luck all! Dino

Dino,
Thank you so much for the generous donation.. Tell your wife that we are overly appreciative for this donation...
Hopefuly we get a handful of pictures posted before the deadline, which is April 25th.
As long as the pictures are posted by the 25th and the money is in Dale Gamba's mailbox by the first of May, your picture will be included...
There has been several great pictures posted of the spring water season, it would be great to see some of them in the contest....
Thank you to all that have participated...
Eric
