I have well over a hundred wire muskrat stretchers and they are all either Peerless or Victor Quick Dry's. Both of these brands are no longer being produced. Due to their age, on a few of them sometimes the pronged hook will slide and not keep tension on the pelt. Does anyone know of a fix for this problem? Thanks

You might try running the edge of a file along the frame of the stretcher just to rough it up a tad or maybe oblonging the the wrapped wire arm with a pair of vise grips or a little whack from a hammer.

Emery cloth. Sand the wire frame lightly..

Thanks, I will try both of these methods before I put them away for the year.

A snap clothes pin on the frame above the arm.
