I was unable to any of the auctions this year so I decided to send my fur to Groenwolds. I had a very small supply. 2 rats and a mink. $11 a piece for the rats and $30 for the mink. Shipping was $4.85. Their prices are well within the average of NAFA and Fur harvesters and the best part was there was no commission.
They are great to do business with and are very fair. Thanks to Marshrat for the suggestion.

They're just a bit odd with grey fox, they want them fur-in. Too bad mine are already fur-out.

Honestly I didn't even measure it. I picked it up off the road during deer season.

The only downfall to shipping there is you don't get a "top lot" hat to wear to the convention ..lol

Your shipping was 9.3 percent of your total sales, much more than the 4.75 percent that commission that I paid at NAFA. Hey,I'm not beating up on you as I just sold near $1900 worth of fur to Groenwolds on Saturday. Just pointing out reality.

Phil, yeah I realized that but when I considered how much it would have cost me to drive to a fur buyer or to try to get to an auction and then pay commission on top of that, it worked out for me. I am happy. Like I said, I only had 3 furs so it wasn't like massive amounts that others might have. I would imagine a higher percentage of fur would offset the cost of shipping. I could have fit 20 muskrats in the same package, but unfortunately I didn't have them

Austin, I got rid of 3/4 of my traps and I still have way too many. I am looking for new places to trap because I am sick of the disrespectful people near me. I had someone pull my stake out last year and throw it inthe woods and replace it with a stake and trap of theirs, they should have at least put the stake on the bank.

I'm looking for new places to trap where at least 300 muskrats actually live! <lol> If we get a normal, seasonal amount of rainfall with no big floods this summer, should be enough rats for everybody to have some fun with. We'll see what nature has in store for us all

But your not factoring in the Time Value of Money, you need to discount the $ you recieved from NAFA by 30 days in comparising to his 3 day wait. Just Saying

I drove all the way to Leggets to sell some fur, just in gas cost me about $50,not to mention other truck cost, and $4.50 in turnpike tolls.Likely would of cost me less to ship them postal. No wonder they go broke.

Not real good, weather sucked for tidal trapping, and this was my first year got 149 rats,Bob,and I were trapping together,so we got 298 all together. Last year was perfect weather, and Bobby got 1360 by himself, and I was out west trapping
