Bridger no.2 coil. It'll catch anything from rats and mink to yote dogs.

Dear Mr. Lonnie, The 1.75 Norhwoods / Bridgers are an excellent trap and I've used them for many years. In my opinion they are the ultimate all purpose/species trap just like the #2 Northwoods / Bridgers. Personally I like the little added jaw spread of the #2. Regards

Depends upon the target species; 280's for beaver and otter, 1 and 1/2 for mink , single spring 220's for rats, 160's for fisher. I'm partial to the old Blake and Lambs. For beaver under ice with a foothold I love the old Blake and Lamb 44 double long springs. Old fashioned? Sure, and set in my ways.

I have to agree with ztbowtech on one thing ---the pinch pan victor 1.5. When I was a kid all I had was #1 victor longs and #1 victor JG stoploss. My grandfather let me use his 1.5 coil woodchuck trap in the winter.I thought that trap was the greatest trap going.

I tryed the Bridger 1.75 this year had some of the best pad catched ever. Great pan and with square jaws heald everything I will be adding more this year. If they get the new doglass #3 I think it will be a winner also.

There are a lot of good traps out there. My favorites are because I am primarily a water trapper; for rats and mink- #110 Victor Conibear-either the old square jaw model or the first #110-2's that came out without the four-way trigger. I buy everyone that I can find at conventions. Also for rats-Duke #160 with one spring removed. For beaver-#330 Victor Conibear-they are just a real user friendly trap that are easy to set. And Victor and BMI #280's for otter. And for fisher and marten I use #220 Victors and Northwoods up off the ground over four feet.
