Bob did you hit the 200 mark yet? If not you would think that Austin would take a couple days off from busting your chops and help a fellow trapper out. We need to stick together more than ever now if we are going to survive.Besides he needs to stay out of Drum before Mr. Rockwood sets one of those CDR beaver traps to catch him.

I'd be happy to help Bob reach his century mark again... and Rockwood marked up some topo maps where all the high-volume beaver crossing are on Drum for me. I traded him a tan colored female squirrel dog that pees indoors on command. Can't tell you where I "bought" her from (in the middle of the night) but it was a pretty sweet deal for both of us

Bob did you hit the 200 mark yet? I have had Seven near roadside Bridge floats and two bottom edge sets out since Saturday and I made my first catch today with a WATER VOLE. LOL There is already another trapper who has been operating in my area who had already set every bridge and culvert in the area during my period of post accident trauma. The weather today is blizzard-like and not near conducive to setting traps. The Rodeo won't haul a canoe in the hatchback and besides, I'm no longer able to lift it so I'm my trapping is bellied up for the year But hopefully the weather will change before beaver season ends and I can get to some off Road beaver and Muskrat by shuffling. walleyed

I had planned on a two or three week campaign up north for beaver and rats this month... got 48 #330s and 24 #4s ready to deploy along with usual rat gear. Mapped out several locations, prepped to manage two lines at a time, etc. Best laid plans depended on seasonal spring weather. Instead, I'm going to spend 3 - 4 days this weekend chasing rats and that's about it for this year. By the time still waters all unlock and beaver dispersal hits peak activity, April 7th will be passed. So I'm going to dabble for a few rats, maybe a token beaver or two if lucky and once again succomb to unusual adverse weather for the umpteenth time this season. We're still young, Bob... there is always next year
