I know how often you are all asked to give money for every cause that exists. And I know how hard times are for many of you.
I have held off asking for help for a long time because of this. But we are now at the point that we need additional help with the lawsuit here in Minnesota.
For those that don't know, two Minnesota trappers (Bob Mochinski and Tim Sawatzky) along with Phil Brown, Robert Waddell, Kelly Peterson, and Bob Wendt filed a lawsuit against the State of Minnesota claiming that the total restriction on Non-resident trappers is a violation of a trappers rights to earn a living. We believe that income earned from trapping is a significant part of many trappers and their families and that they should not be restricted from their chosen profession by State borders. We don't allow that for other professions like farming, plumbers, policeman, electricians, bankers, lawyers etc. And we don't believe trappers should be restricted either.
Up to this point, the majority of this lawsuit has been funded primarily by MN Trappers. But we've reached the point that we need more help as we're fighting a government entity that simply has more money than us.
I've sent numerous requests to trapping associations asking for help and so far, only Maryland has stepped forward. I'd like to believe that more of them will as this is 100% pro trapping intiative that is intended to expand trapping opporunities for ALL trappers.
We have submitted our Motion for Summary Judgement that should be ruled on in April. But we need more money to see this issue to it's end. We also need everyone that believes trappers should not be restricted by State borders to get behind us on this and ask their Association's, along with the National Associations, to get behind this.
Anything you can do as an individual or an Association to help is much needed and much appreciated. You can PM me for additional information if you'd like. If you'd like to contribute to our cause, my mailing address is;

My thanks and gratitude to those of you on this site that have already provided us help.
