Bought this trap in a lot and dont know anything about, Who made it, whats it worth, whats it used for.... any info would be great guys thanks

From what I could find out on this internet it's a Oneida Community Stop Thief trap. Despite the below pic, it's listed as being for catching "rabbit sized animals" as they emerge from their holes. Prices on old ebay auctions seem to indicate it's not a real rare/collectible, but it's neat looking.

My great grand-father had one of those in his granary. I used to play with it all the time... Over 30 years ago... Heck, it may still be there somewhere....... I forgot all about that trap until I read this...

Pull up the lever that extends from the spring, then pull the other short lever and hook into the trigger assembly... If I remember right, I struggled with that bugger for hours....
The pic that Erict put up shows the trap set...

here. black first then red. the red arrow shows the striker bar hooking onto the little trigger hook after the spring is compressed(black arrow)

Hi...
I've got one of those, too. Never used it for trapping, though. Very to easy to set, also...although newer traps are far better at catching fur bearers.
