anybody use the trigger caulking gun type?getting too old for the other types.i want one that keeps the springs locked to throw the safety clips and after I caught my hand in a 160, it wasn't easy getting out with the gem setter I was using.

I don't know, the Jury is still out. I picked one up at a convention last year from a very well known vendor. Got home and tried it and it was defective. Sent it back and recieved a new one and it worked fine for a while and then one day I was setting a Duke #330 and it broke in the same place as the first one. Went back to the large aluminum squeeze types.

Dear Friends, I got my setter from our fellow forum member, Mr. Rattrapper. It is solidly built and have had no problems with it. Regards

Are they all built the same ? Or is just the same design used by different people ? Forgot my tongs one day and had to set by hand. They are fairly easy till trying to get a 40 lb plus beaver out without a set.Always like those caulk gun type after trying one at the convention.
