the county legislature voted to move the resolution forward for a full vote on the 4th of march.
Standing room only, 200 plus were in attendance and there was not a single voice in support of the unSAFE act.
Many constituents spoke at the meeting and all did very well and received thunderous applauds.
The problem with the resolution is the language was not of repeal but for amending the unSAFE act, this was not what the majority in attendance advocated.
I regrettably watched as the Democrats spent two hours on amendments and fought against having the language of repeal in the resolution, in direct conflict of most everyone in attendance, when the Republican Legislator introduced an amendment to change the language from amend to repeal there was a standing ovation.
As I said, this was defeated by the Democratic legislators and the resolution with the amend language remained. The opposition was concerned as to not offend the Governor, senate, assembly and Assembly member Addie Russel.
This is not the resolution that was demanded, however it was the only resolution that the Democrat majority allowed.
