Finally, after a week of catching zippo in the few traps I had out, and setting and pulling, and falling through twice due to the Last thaw, I finally Managed to whack a 25 Lb Large-Medium Beaver today, and I got five new sets out at some new Beaver colonies. Today's Under Ice Victim. The Ice is now 10 to 13 inches here, but I am still dodging Gas holes and thin Ice in places so I have had to really be on my toes which a hard way to walk for a Fat Guy. Just when you think you have good ice everywhere, your Ice saw busts through a rotten two inch crust and scares the heck out of you. I have been walking with two eight foot two inch Alder Poles in my hands for safety. The two Places I set today are 15 and 25 minute walks from the truck so There should be a nice blizzard, 30 Knot headwind, and 20 below Zero tomorrow when I walk in to check traps. I am a bit sore from walking (waddling) a couple three miles in my in my hip boots, and from chipping/sawing through the thick Ice. With Today's pouring rain at times, there was 2 inches of water on the very slippery ice when I got off at 5:00PM. I hope to get 3 more Beaver colonies set in the morning if the weather isn't too wicked. Stay Tuned. walleyed

Catch it in the 12"x16" or 330?? Just curious, Doug MB-12" X 16" MEGA-DEATH. Right Behind the ears. ;D After a LOT of screwing around with the Trigger Tension and twisting up the wires a few times below the trigger Notch before spreading them, I Finally stiffened the trigger wire enough that it fires quicker and sooner. I think I have the problem solved. w

Good luck, but be careful and safe on ice. Don't take risks. The fur will be there next season.
