Here's a question maybe someone can answer. Say I make a catches of non-target critters at a k-9 dirthole set. So, I decide to not re-make the set and want to move the trap to another location. Now, I know this trap is now "dirty" and must be cleaned before I can set at the new location. My question is.... What constitutes a "clean" trap? Do I just wash it off with water or soap and water? Will I need to re-dye and wax the trap before use? Any suggestions?

Technically a new dye and wax job makes it "clean". However, if wax is not too scraped up you may get away with rinsing off and resetting. When setting for canines I like clean traps (dyed and waxed) at fresh sets because it makes me confident.

Will chip off easier though. I also agree with the statement" it makes ME feel better. Hay sets cover alot of odor because of the hay but I think that a dirt hole set is different. Any smell on that trap and they will dig it up.
