I havn't had much time to trap this year but being self employed and all, I managed to give myself a little break on the last few weeks of the canine season. How conveinient ;D I have a few pretty good properties with good sign on all. Set them up last fri. A few sets were worked earlier on but nothing since. All hay sets along travel routes. I do understand that this freaky weather is playing a roll but I had expected better results by now. I will also confess that I sometimes miss things on picking set locations. As soon as the colder weather comes back I think I'll do better. I'll make a few post sets along with the hay sets as well. Is there something I missed?

Hard to say if you missed anything but this is not the best k9 weather try to keep them in working order and patience will most likely be rewarded. One thing you should check you should be using a really good gland lure right now.

Thanks oldman, Yep, using Mark junes fox frenzy and two others for change ups. You are right though, most likely a patience thing. Always is with me. Wind is blowing now and bringing in the nexy cold front. Gotta go check traps.

Staked out muskrat carcasses last night in a hay set and had one big dog red waiting this morning. They are pretty hungry

Well, caught a big double on coon today. Two in a hay set is a pretty wild ride. Both were plenty muddy and fur was in pretty good shape. I have managed to avoid them for the last few nights but not last night. Anyway, it's better than nothing. I'll just keep keepin on. I have some muskrat legs in the freezer that I was using for mink. Thanks for the idea fuzz.
