I started sorting out all my traps so I can sell them all and I came across my #1 victor longspring that I caught my first muskrat in. My Dad gave it to me back in 1980 and he used it during to 50's. I remember setting it when I was 6 or 7 years old but we lived in the city at the time so I couldn't use it to catch anything. I remember I was with my friends on the way to churchschool and we set it in a culvert, after churchschool we walked back and checked it......there was a rat in it and I was hooked for years!! Now there seems to be a shortage of rats, too much competition, theft and high gas prices....I just don't seem to have the motivation. I spent a lot time watching deer in woods this fall and it brought the feeling like when I started trapping so I am planning on hanging up the traps and getting the 12guage out.....So look for out for the big trap sale coming soon!

I will keep a few, but not many.....I really don't see any real comeback to the rat population, get fewer every year in this area.

I didn't bother selling mine... just made a bunch of neat piles out on the back lawn, and they went away. You might want to try that

Marshrat Joe, NYRAT will pay you Hard Currency in AMERICAN GREENBACKS approximating 50 Cents on the dollar. You can be sure he will carry on the muskrat trapping tradition with them and He'll probably strike pay-dirt with them before the season ends on February 15th. Better sell them quick before the Fur Market Crashes and they become worthless, and suitable only for sale as short steel at the local scrap yard. ;D ;D ;D walleyed
