My opinion . Instead of half a$$ing it read what you can. Ask a million questions guys and girls on here are great. Get good locations . Look for sign and tracks over summer and fall. Upgrade your traps with mods if you feel they need it. And prepare for next year. Use the snow we have now to find locations and there habits if you have snow. Learn about coyotes and then go for it. This is my opinion. By doing this you will not get discouraged and it might pay off better than trapping a rubbed February coyote last minute . YouTube has some info not all of it is worth a crap. This site is great. There is alot of archives with great information. Attending demos over the summer is another hands on learning tool.

educate yourself this off season, practice making sets.. you-tube does have the basic videos on dirt hole / blind sets for trapping coyote.. just remember coyotes are more thieves than anything, always looking to steal that free meal hidden by other animals.. dirt hole sets work the best for me, i do pre sets before season to get yotes comfy committing to my sets.. caught him last nite on a dirt hole set.. good luck Attachments:

you might want to find a person that traps yotes in your area for help, yotes are hard to figure out ,if they are pinched in a trap that is to small or not bedded properly or not strong enough & they pull out you educate them. need good strong equipment for holding the animal a trap in the #2 size to start out, beefed up to hold them . the use of scent post, flat sets, & dirtholes all work, also read the archives on this site will help also ask trappers who catch a lot of them for advise & attend the local trapping conventions for demos, read books & buy videos as all will help. each year i catch more & more they are fun animals to catch & out smart but the smart ones teach me each year how smart they really are.
