I fear that voting them out is nearing impossible! There are more people on welfair and food stamps than ever before, do you think they will vote out the very people who support there way of life? And the rest of the moron liberals all feel that we need to help these poor people who cant help them selves. Granted this dosn't mean give up, but I fear that we will never elect any one who will take these scumbags off the system! I dont have any answers on what to do, and I feel that living in Tompkins County NY my vote hardly counts... But the best answer I have for beating them now or atlest getting them to notice that we wont stand for these anti gun laws is to hit the in the wallett by boycotting the sales of hunting liscenses for the upcoming year! If we can get people behind it they will they will probly realize the loss of revanue by October. Allthough I agree with alot of what you say you can write your reps all day, but they wont care, they dont care if there is thousands of people on these boards complaining about there legislation, because there are just as many backing them. All I know is if you take money from there pocket they will notice! I cant stop buying fuel and paying taxes, but I dont have to give them $120+ every year to hunt fish and trap. Anyone got a better idea to get there attention? Thanks for reading- Jeff

You may be correct that Tompkins County may be hunter friendly(only because of the deer problem in Ithaca), but we are only partially represented by supporters of the second amendment. Our current house rep for the 24th district is Dan Maffei he supported closeing the "gun show loophole" ,restricting show sales. (May 2009 when he represented the 25th district), and he currently supports restricting the second ammendment. Regardless of who represents what district were stuck with our reps for a couple years, and by the time we vote again it may be to late. Honestly what good do you think having a facebook page and knowing how to use it will do, and participating in the message forums only allows us to speek to eachother they are not listening... We can contact our reps, and sign all the petitions you want(Ive allready done it) but talking our way out of this wont work, theres only one thing polliticions listen to that is $$$! If we boycott buying our hunting liscenses they will feel it...

its simple math like picking a location for your sets, all the folks who voted in and will continue to do so, do so why? because like the critters they are going to take the path of least resistance, work 40+ hours a week and pay taxes? or smoke, drink and play X-box waiting for the check....hmmmmmm, too many have tasted "the easy life" and think thats how its supposed to be and even worse are passing that "attitude" off to the next generation, there is no overnite fix but i gotta agree with both of you, i have already "educated" quite a few folks via "web media" that just believed what mainstream media was force feeding them, however thats only a small percentage and like gundog stated talking our way out wont cut it, and $$$$$ is always the driving factor, if you dont think Cuomo did this for career progression and and not cuz "thats what he truly believes" you'd be sadly mistaken, not purchasing lisences would only work if EVERYONE and i mean EVERYONE was on board, otherwise you'll just have pockets of outdoorsman forfieting their outdoor passion for a worthy cause at un- surpassable odds , its all got to go back to knowing the reps and attempting to vote in (and out) appropriately, (media outlets via FB and forums can sway locally)and yessir easier said than done!!

As a GENERAL Rule anti = the following. Why is this so. It's simple actually. The power stragedy is as follows; Cater to the following groups without any concern for principle or truth. 1. Those dependent on government who might forget their principles for benefits; those on welfare, means test benefits or in government unions) . 2.. Those who can be conviced that politicans are good because of the angry white racist argument. (Black and Hispanics) 3. Those that might be convinced that guns, trapping and hunting are cruel and want a kinder gentler way, (women & city dwellers). DOESN'T THIS ALL SOUND LIKE FAMILAR FORMULA FOR SUCCESS.
