I didn't see anything in the bill that banned us from buying ammo on the internet. Problem is the shipping costs are usually pretty high.

There wasnt Law stated all bulk ammo sales over the internet would have to be shipped to a gun dealer........Is the problem with these forums, is that too many Mis-truths get spread around....

marshrat keep them coming.
Everyone has to get a grip. We all know theirs a lot of tension in the air rite now. We had a b-day party at my house last night, we didn't talk much at all about gun control. Yea rite. It was the topic of the night. Not a day goes by when someone doesn't bring it up. Don't get me wrong I'll fight to the death for my 2nd amendment. But everyone has to calm down a bit..

Ok, maybe I was wrong, will check, but Tuesday night, I tried to get some from Midway USA, and got a big yellow STOP "STATE LAW PREVENTS US FROM SELLING AMMO TO YOU" Or something like that.. I did place an order with Natchez... I am waiting for the email that says "Oops, we can't sell to you because you live in NY" Anyway, some places like Cabela's or Sportsman's Guide only charge their regular shipping rates... But I did hear something about UPS saying they will not deliver firearms related purchases to NY.

Like I say, and this is just what I read out of these rags we call a newspaper anymore, but paper said we would still be able to order bulk ammo but it would have to go thru an FFL dealer and they "obviously" are gonna tack on a fee....I agree alot of your bigger companies are just gonna say piss on NYS and block us all together because of too much BS !!

Q: Is there any background check required for purchasers of ammunition? A: No. The background check requirement does not take effect until January 15, 2014. This site answers alot of questions www.governor.ny.gov/2013/gun-reforms-faq

It's not just NY that everything related to guns is scarce they're were lines at the sportsmens wharehouse to get on a list to buy the" bad rifles" primers, powder etc get on the backorder list. I buy brass at starline the 40SW coming in March, even 357 is backordered---the republic is in danger and people know it!!--------Tom

Most ammo dealers I've visited the last couple days had some stuff but were concerned about selling it. They don't have a data base yet to run a check . So things should be able to be sold if it's there. The online dealers have been out of alot of stuff for weeks. Walmart has had low inventory of .22 RF for last two or three years now. Those who post stuff and refer to law abbiding folks as "gunnuts" are feeding the fire and splitting us up. Keep in mind that if the state can pass such a draconian un-popular law such as this so easily , just how easy do you think it will be to pass a anti-trapping bill? Got make the woods safe for the kids and bird watchers .
