i have 3 #4 long spring to try to catch some beaver form a pond ,how do i go about attaching it to a pole.and setting up this type of set.

Attach 2 sticks to the pole to form a shelf for the trap to sit on.

I think the baited under ice sets are now better made with footholds, than trying to use bodygrips with bait under the current trigger regulation that we have in much of the state.

if you had some #3 or #4 under springs traps, you could saw 1/2 inch into pole set spring into pole cutting, set bait above tie off trap lower on pole easy & one of the oldest under the ice trap set ups.

This picture shows the set up I use with a Duke #4 coil spring set on a pole. Same set-up will work with dbl long spring traps.

Hey cooper i bought 6 num 3 jumps at a convention over the summer..was guna use them for otter but baited beaver sets work since its all froze up..could you describe more in detail the setup you described cutting 1/2 into pole..or maybe a pic..thanks Shawn

Typically one lightly wires the trap to the chair. Sometimes rubber bands can be used to fasten. If the trap is not fastened lightly it could easily be bumped off the chair, but it should not be wired tightly. hope this helps Scott
