I got some of these shock springs. Is it safe to assume that a swivel goes on each end? How close to the trap do you connect. is there anything else that I may need to know. Thank You for your support.. Ed

Thank You for your support.. Ed Hey Ed, Do you have welded Lock washers at either end of yours, and are the ends squared off or rounded ? I have both styles and you can add your swivels right to the ends of the rounded ones. The older style have squared ends and need the lock washer installed to keep your swivel from binding. I use the MB-Crunchproof swivels, and I use an 23 inch set up with the J.C. Conner shock spring at mid-point with equal amounts of chain at either side. This is how I set mine up. My way is not the only way to do it but It works efficiently for me. Hope this partially answers your question. walleyed

Mole I use similar setup to Walleyed except that I tack weld J hooks since I have mostly yotes here. Those shock springs go a long way towards reducing trap damage by yotes.I also use all wolf style dogs on my K9 traps and that ends them biting them and folding them in half.
