Was wondering if anyone knows of some good hunting areas for snowshoe and or grouse ? I dont have a dog would just be beating the brush. I used to go up towards teresa, but havent been there in years.. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Im in Brockport 20 min west of rochester.. I know I will have to travel being there are none around here.

Have some good areas here in Saratoga county but that is one hell of a drive.

I know a place you can go that is good for both,about 10 minutes off RT 81 to the east,and just below Watertown in unit 6N. It's pretty thick,with tag alders and red brush,along a creek flat,but we jump grouse all the time, and later in the season the locals run dogs through it and get some snoeshoes out of there. If you would be interested PM me and I can get you the details,it's a small 50-60 acre patch of private woods that does not see much pressure. You will definently need snow shoes to access it.
