Second year trapping although I took the course way back in high school (early 80s). Last year only trapped the last month or two or season picked up some coon, possom, beaver and rats. No K9s. Put some sets out Saturday morning found this Sunday morning. I remade the set and found this today. Dug a hole and buried the poor thing. It was already dead when I got there not sure from what. Two fox in two nights nights is exciting even if the one had mange. Set is a dirt hole with a bridger 1.5 two coil using Kaatz Red Label and red fox urine.

Congrats! That second one is in poor shape. Looks like he may have been on his last legs anyway. I have yotes kill mine occasionally, was he marked up...besides the mange.

Looked like there might have been some deep scratch marks on his rump it was dark and I didn't want to touch the thing. Picked it up under the arm with my stake driver and put it in the hole I dug to bury it in.
I reset the trap. I wouldn't be disappointed if a coyote came through. I have a flat set about 10 yards from this one but nothing has touched that yet.

I did not check the second one. The first was a female.

Willing to bet a fox killed the poor guy with mange. Look for another catch shortly Congratulations on your success!

My bet is that the fox succumbed to exposure due to the mange and the wet weather
