great auction for the trappers at pompey today i was there till 12.30 and fur was still getting checked in i was one of the 12 buyers these are highs that i saw rats 18.00 mink 35.00 reds 42.00 coyote 37.00 beaver 31.00 greys 36.00 coons did great 30.00 with avg around 20.00. i will have to say there was not much junk or rotten fur there .lots of very nic put up fur and the prices reflects that

sounds great! Usually, it seems, things get better after the first auction, so that is a helluva start! Thanks for posting.....we will all look forward to the official results.

would say aleast 30 .there wasnt very many there would say under 500 total

That always happens at the local auctions when a big group of buyers gather. They get tired of seeing fifty 1-lot orders flow thru, a bit bored and then get chippy with each other by bidding a small lot thru the roof. Then guys outside the conversation think what they see is reality, when in effect it's just boys being boys at an older age. Of course that same type of thing never happens inside threads of public message boards for trappers

We put over 11,000 worth of fur thru. Things didnt end till almost 5.

Either way thats alot of fur. Most of which was in nice shape. Still some need to learn how to put up fur AND when to take it out of the freezer
