I have a few traps I used earlier in the season, pulled them in early November. They have some minor surface rust. My question is can I use them as is, on a K-9 line I plan on setting the the day after late deer season ends? Will the rust have any effect?

I personally think that you should boil them and wax them by then.

If they are not contaminated with any bad odors I would use them.

Thank you. Had them hanging outside in a tree so should be scent free. Just a little surface rust.
