same concept with fork... and added benefit of "fingers" you can hook muddy banks, tree limbs, cattail clumps, rootballs, vegetation mats, etc. I also use the fork tines a lot to pull traps from a distance. I hook one fork inside the chain ring fastened to stake and lift up and then swing trap, catch and stake into the canoe. No need to drag myself into shallow mud or back into cattail edges... can easily reach sets while floating right on past speeds up everything greatly. of course I commonly leave it on land at set locations when beached and releasing several rats from traps on site, but that's another story

i sure dont mind the radison..had an eight footer for a few years and ran a bit out of it with my brother..not the most stable with two people and a bunch of gear especially when you get excited seeing some fresh sign..lesson learned check the water level with the paddle before you decide to try to jump out and tip the whole canoe over because retrieving gear in 6 ft of water really sucks..well bought a radison 12 footer last year at a garage sale..an absolutely brand new radison with paddles and both seats not a scratch on it i mean nothing for 150 dollars..one of the best deals ive come across..great canoe alot more stable and a great fishing canoe to..just my 2 cents

last week my partner and i had a live rat on the bank, hind foot catch, after the river went down. he swung at it with the orr and promptly depressed the spring on a B and L longspring the rat ran up the bank and we laughed our asses off. lol

I had started this post last summer. I went on to buy a real good used Old Town "Stillwater12". This is without a doubt, one of the most stable canoes ever made. At just 54 pounds, it is real easy to handle.
