You will find that trap exponentially easier to set if you turn it 180 degrees. Face the loose jaw AWAY from your body, and go under it with you hand/fingers to engage to pan and jaw near your body.
Try it........you'll like it.

I use thuse same gloves for work and trapping...in winter of course.

I just got a couple of MB 650's with the inside lam's. A few things that I really respect are guns, broadheads, moving vehicles, cold deep water and now added to the list ....MB 650's. Being new to the trapping game, I've managed to catch my fingers a "few" times this season. LOL You can bet your last nickel, I won't be taking any chances with those bad boys. Oh, I got the setter too....and those same gloves..............................................
