jusy wondering what kind of trap this is i never have seen one say square something on the pan

Looks like a Triumph,some type of what was known as an easy set trap.

Herm's right. It's an Easy Set. Looks like someone cut the pan down and the locks for the springs are missing from the base.

A #2 Triumph Easy-Set Square-Grip in great condition may be worth $35. Yours is probably a $5. trap due to its condition, but still a neat collectible trap and at least 75 years old.
