Going on now! Top lot $37.00 Seriously strong prices. Nothing crazy but seems the rat trappers are going to get paid.

canine trappers got paid at yesterday's GVTA auction, too. I watched 100s of fox and coyotes pass thru for $30s and $40s on the quality goods with a few winter selects breaking the $50 mark
the only furs which suffered were coon. other than that, any collection of good fur sold really well across the board
the 1970s and 1980s prices are back. thank you for that, China! <lol>

Did your coon mostly grade Eastern NC, Eastern Nth, or Canadian ?
that's a nice price for a NYS Coon. Of those that sold, what was your average ?
My very Best Coon sold for $16.00 here in NYS In-country.

I sent up 11 coon. So far 5 offered, 3 sold. The prices. 35, 26, 13.
All 11 good graded different lots. 2 went canadian, One North Western, and the rest Eastern. Time will tell, I think I would have nose counted $14 local.

How much is the commision for NAFA?

How much is the commision for NAFA? It's 11% commission for shippers plus shipping charges. If you pay a $100.00 fee, you can join the WFSC (Wild Fur Shippers Council) for five years and your commission is reduced to 9%. also if you are a WFSC member, you pay no shipping charges at all. Last year, anyone who was a member and shipped fur also received an additional 3% dividend payment based on total your fur sales for 2011. They will be paying a 3% dividend based on all fur shipped and sold in 2012 as well. Also, I believe there was some other bonus program for WFSC members just announced recently, and I think my current commission is now only 5.5% I am a member and recouped my $100.00 in the first year. It was a good deal based on the volume of fur I shipped. walleyed

I didn't have any new fur in this auction, wasn't able to meet Ernie this January so I sent some stuff up to FHA instead. However I did have one unsold XL I-II brown silky beaver left over from last May. It ended up selling for $41.00 yesterday. That's very encouraging, as in January an almost identical pelt (the very next lot number) sold for around $24 at NAFA's private treaty sale. Also, last May my best price for a beaver was $36.00 for a XXL - XXXL.
I'm looking forward to the upcoming auctions!
