Dear Friend, Mix some buckwheat honey with your castor 50/50, the buckwheat honey is an enrager, ...........Or scent the mound with just 3 or 4 drops of beaver sac oil. Regards papabear

Maybe you shouldn't be disturbing beaver dams unless you have a permit to do so or the DEC will be knocking on your door as they visit this Forum daily and have issued tickets before.....

Maybe you and NYRAT are trapping the same area that WALLEYE already beat you too??...LOL Not me. I've been Spring Beaver Trapping at a few spots for a week and have not caught a thing, although I missed a couple Otter in my JUNK DUKE 330's LOL. The Dwarf Beaver trapper However, has slunk in low to the ground and trapped all easily accessible the beaver around here scampering around on 1/2 Inch thin ice and sucking them up like a HOOVER VACUUM Cleaner. He Hasn't left anything for us old, fat, slow, crippled Trappers . He's decimating all the public land beaver before heading up to his "secret spot" up near Star lake. I think I saw him this morning headed up State Route #3 Driving his team of Goats behind his trapping cart to save money on fuel. He is being secretive, covering the Goat cart with a large Tarp to hide his massive catch, and being evasive when questioned. Rumor has it He'll need a special tandem refrigerator truck just to deliver his castor to market. walleyed

I have caught the spooky ones by going upstream and finding a run that turns if you have to use lure go up farther 20 feet or more and put the lure there, lots of ways most are sets that you see as looking at traps every day you will notice changes and an oppturinty will present itself or the season closes before the trap!!-------Tom
