Couple questions: How do night owl lures compare to others like kishels? Which night owl lures work the best year round for coons, fox and coyotes?

I can tell you that i like Jims line of lures very much. I was fortunate to have tested some of his new "musk" lure on our line this year with great results. Some of my favorite canine lures in no particular order are open season, red tornado, crossbones, cold roller. All of these lures have worked well on all three of the animals you have mentioned.

I have to agree with what Brushwolf said. Night Owl lures will do the job if you do your part. I use them and I like them. Ed

I used them extensively last year and will be using them almost exclusively this year. Great lures, great holding power, even in snow and rain. I had a mousehole set that had no action for almost 2 weeks and I never re lured even during more than a few rain & snow episodes and I had a nice red on the day I pulled them. Crossbones is one the best call lures available and his new lure that hopefully will be out this year is absolutely unbelievable!!!!

I had bought some of kishels lures, I only had one hit on them for over 3 weeks. I was not happy with the performance. I have even looked at the trap locations about three weeks after i pulled them in Jan. and still no more hits. Thank you guys for your information, from what is sounds like i should place an order for next fall.

One thing to keep in mind is these guys on here that use our lures know a thing or two about the trapping game. They paid their dues on the line and I'm glad they feel our lures are a benefit to them. I also know they know what to do with them once they get them in their hands ;D Thanks guys!!

You're welcome Jim!! King I would definatly place an order. To be fair, I have used Kishel's lures before and have caught fur on them as well. Just about any lure will call some animals but to hold them andake them work the set takes something special. I really like the consistency of Nightowl lures, no runny junk here, nice and think with a variety of smells, some of which I can even make out. My son absolutly loves the Plum Loco coon lure, he caught all his coon on it this past year.

I have two coon lures I carry on my line. One is honey/ molasses mixed bought at the store. The other is shellfish/ fish oil mixed bought from Night Owl. I have bought fish oil and shellfish oil from others and wasn't satisfied with either product. There are different grades of both. Night Owl has always had the good stuff. I have also used his Ontario Beaver Lure and that too is as good as you can buy and better than most.
